14 September 2023: The East of England’s Marine Science and Technology Sector Council announces a change in leadership.
After an impressive six year term the group’s Chair, Phil Durrant , is stepping down.. With 30 years’ experience in the marine sector, now presiding over MarineSpace as Managing Director, Phil’s valuable experience and knowledge of the industry has contributed to the continued growth and advancement of the MST Sector Council. Reflecting on his role as Chair, Phil was keen to express how much he had enjoyed his time leading the group:
“It’s been a pleasure and an honour to have held the role of chairman of the MST Sector Council for the past 6 years. I would like to say thank you to all of those at EEEGR and the members of this group who have helped us navigate through some challenging times to reach the point where this group now has a very bright future and is already delivering a lot for all those involved in marine science in this region. In Jenni I am confident we have a strong chairperson for the future who will take the Council to the next level.
Stepping into the role with an impressive track record in the energy industry is Jennifer Nicholls, now working for EPI Group as their Marketing & Sustainability Manager: “It is a privilege for me to be taking over as Chair from Phil after his hugely successful six year tenure, I’d like to thank him for leaving me with such a successful team to be part of. There are some fantastic plans in place for future of the MST Sector a council, and I look forward to getting stuck in come September”.
